Question

As a business, can I copyright earrings I have made with crystals and findings (links, bails etc) that are purchased but I have arranged/designed? I want to protect someone just looking at them and starting their own business with these designs.

If so how do I go about doing this?

I have 130 sets (earrings & matching pendant) what would be the best way to go ?

Thank you,

Fort Worth, Texas

Answer

There is automatically a copyright if it is your technique and design.

However, you can also register the design.

I would suggest that you do this the right way: hire a qualified business attorney who can set up your company, prepare disclaimers, prepare and file to register your copyright designs, etc.
