Question

When you make an agreement to be set up on auto bill payment for a debit collector in exchange for the dispute comments to be removed from credit and payment is taken but dispute comments are not removed, is that considered a verbal agreement? What can we do? We are located in Texas but debit collector is in Florida.

Answer

He lied to you. Stop sending money to him.

And STOP TALKING TO HIM ON THE PHONE. Tell him that since he's lied to you, you now require all future communication to be IN WRITING. Then HANG UP THE PHONE.

Write to him - a paper letter - keep a copy - and tell him that you are not going to send any more money until the dispute comments are removed.

And then stick to your guns. Don't let these dirtbags intimidate you.

Answer

Agreed..too often debtors know they owe something..and cave in to threats..but u can clear up disputes by contacting credit bureaus..NOT by paying a collector.
