I was robbed trying to buy a car of Craig's list. I met the person and he pulled a gun on me. I called the police and they took my money from the robber. How long will it take me to get my money back. From the police they said I need a lawyer this was 2 months ago.

Keep bugging the police. It sounds like one of those "squeaky wheel gets the grease" situations. You don't necessarily need an attorney, but it would be a good idea.
