Question

I am owed $30,000 by a business. The maximum amount that can be sued for in PA Small Claims Court is $12,000. The $30,000 owed consists of about 40 separate invoices. Can I sue for groups of invoices owed (e.g. three law suits of $10,000 each), or am I limited to just one suit per company that owes me money

Answer

There are rules against splitting claims like this. You need to get a collection attorney to file suit against the business in regular court, but the matter will be heard in judicial arbitration. For a completely different business, you can bring a separate suit.
