Question

I have worked for a major retail chain for 40 years. I have been in management for the last 10-15. I was recently terminated for "job performance" . My last evaluation I was rated above expectations. I had a spotless record and impeccable reputation before this. My boss was failing miserably and I believe I was used as an example or scapegoat. I was written up several times in a short period of time and was told I was being held accountable because the manager directly below me wasn't doing his job up to standard even though he wasn't held to the same standard as I was.

Bottom line is I'm a 58 year old female with an outstanding reputation that was terminated by a struggling boss as a scapegoat instead of the actual person below me because he is a 30 something year old male

Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated

Answer

Could be a claim for age discrimination. Who was employer? The next step would be to file an EEOC Charge. Feel free to call or e-mail me at [email protected]/* */ to discuss further. Thanks.
