How long does the court have to notify the Secretary of State about a DUI conviction? I received a DUI conviction about four years ago. I recently obtained a copy of my driving record and there is no record of the conviction only the arrest. When I was arrested I was issued a temporary license that has since expired. Now the SOS needs a court abstract to show that the matter has been adjudicated. I'm afraid that once they receive the abstract they will then issue the license sanction that should have been issued years ago.
Answer
It sounds like you have nothing to lose by getting the notification of adjudication. Your temporary license has expired. You cannot drive. What is there to lose if your license is suspended now that you can't drive anyway? Get this taken care of by speaking with an experienced criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. Read more at
