If a person has felony charges in Maryland in 1999 but moves to North Carolina 10 years later do they have to answer yes to felony in North Carolina on a job application.
Answer
What does this have to do with credit, debt and collections?
You need to consult an employment law attorney in NC. It does not matter how long ago the charges were or when you moved here.
You do not indicate whether the person was convicted of the crime or what other disposition occurred. If you were convicted and the question asks about convictions, then answer truthfully. If the question asks about arrests, then answer truthfully. If tyou lie and the employer finds out, you could be fired. I think it is better to be honest and provide an explanation than to lie.
However, you might also want to consult a criminal law attorney in Maryland to see if the charges can be xepunged.
