Question

I received a notice that my Petition to Distribute does not reflect the same cash amount at my Final Inventory...which is correct. Reason being that the original amount on the Inventory is now larger than what is reflected in the Petition due to payments made to creditors and final expenses. The judge is asking for a verified supplement. Does this mean that I need to submit an supplemental inventory that will reflect the current amount in the checking account?

Answer

yes

Answer

Even if you're filing a Petition for Distribution with no accounting, you are still required to summarize the actions taken by the personal representative, such as payments to creditors. Some counties require more detail than others, so you should check the local rules, and maybe call the probate examiner who sent you the notes, to ask exactly what they want. You should not change the I&A as that is meant to be a snapshot of the date of death values.
