How is medium related in art?
"Medium" or "media" is the material used to create a piece of artwork. Examples would be oil paint, graphite (pencil), Photoshop, mixed media (combinations of different medias), etc. A medium is related to art, because every piece of art is made out of something in order for it to be visual. An artist's use of a particular media could also say a lot about the artist or their work. For example, an artist may use photography as their medium of choice, because they are interested in capturing the beauties and horrors of life.
A medium, in art, may also be a translucent liquid that thins out paint. See "matte medium."
