My boyfriend and I have been together for 13 years with a couple brake ups. We two kids together. We have lived in Iowa and Nebraska. He has left and moved back to nebraska. Me and the kids are still in Iowa. He has not come to get his stuff yet and I'm afraid he might try to take the kids with him when he does. I'm on assistance with the kids and we have never been married everyone's telling me to file for custody so he can't tak them is that what I need to do or since he left without them do I not need to worry about that.
