Question

My mother and her deceased partner are both listed on their vehicle title registered in California. The vehicle is owned outright. The title is listed with "or" not "and" so I know she has the ability to be the sole signer when she goes to sell it. Since they were not married and the deceased did not leave a will, can his children claim half of the vehicle, or does sole ownership role over to my mother?

Answer

It's hers.

Answer

She should probably go through the process of getting his name off of the title to the car now. Otherwise you'll have to deal with it later.
