My fiance died this past Friday. We had plans to marry soon. Those were his last wishes and he wanted my name to change to his last name. I have texts, sticky notes of his love for me and we both bought each other wedding rings. Someone told me I could marry him still. It seems weird but those were his last wishes. His death was unexpected.

A marriage license would need to be issued to a living person and only a living person could give his consent to be married. You can, however, change your name to whatever you wish, including his last name. It involves filing a name change petition with the court.
