Question

I have a sixteen year old son that drives. His mother is the primary parent. She wants me to pay half of the premium for him to be on her auto insurance. Am I obligated to pay? If she does take me to court over it does she have a high chance of winning?

Answer

As the custodial parent, legally it is her responsibility. Some attorneys deal with this in the parenting agreement. The law is not soclear that she canwin, but a court has broad discretion..
