Question

I am divorced. The bank served me papers initiating foreclosure. My ex left a year before we were legally divorced. When they served me they gave me a copy of the papers addressed to my ex at my address (our house) and are saying they served him that way. Apparently they could not find him for a while and when they did, they were not able to connect with him. My question is, was he legally served by leaving a copy with me? Do they have to serve him before they continue to move on with the suit?

Answer

Yes, service was accomplished by leaving the summons and complaint with a person who is of majority in age at a house owned by the respondant.
