Our elderly parents have executed a listing agreement on their home with an agent. It appears that they were pressured, did not understand all the terms, and have listed for an amount that may be lower than the market would justify (although that is a gray or marginal assertion or area). Is there a 3 day rescission period for a residential broker listing agreement in California? Agreement was signed today and we have not been able to review the actual document. We are submitting this legal question as a free legal question. Thank you.
Answer
There is no "cooling off period" on real estate listing agreements. There may, however, be other grounds to rescind the contract. That's going to depend, however, on a lot of details that will be impossible to go through in any internet Q&A forum. You'll need to talk to a local lawyer.
