I was issued an order of protection to stay away from my ex but it has expired on 4/2013. I facebook friended him recently if he renews the order will I get arrested and go to jail?

It is possible the order could have been renewed and you could be arrested and then the issue of notice arises after your arrest. Much depends on what statements were made in court by the judge.
If you attempt unwanted contact with prior knowledge that its unwanted then you may be setting yourself up for harassment charges.
