Question

My daughter has papers signed by a judge to appear in court do CPS follow up and take a hair drug test. She can't afford an attorney and legal aid won' take her case. When she go's to court can she ask for a lawyer because she has no representation. In Texas

Answer

She would only receive a court appointed attorney if jail time is at risk or in limited CPS proceedings. She should contact the court clerk now to find out if she can be appointed an attorney. Don't let her wait until she is there for a hearing.
