Can I fire my lawyer at anytime during the court process if I feel they are not working in my best interest?

Question

Can I fire my lawyer at anytime during the court process if I feel they are not working in my best interest?

Answer

Generally yes, as long as they are not court appointed.

A court can deny the request to change lawyers if it feels that it will unnecessarily delay the proceedings or prejudice the other side.

But normally if you have hired a lawyer and just want to hire a different one, you can do that.
